China is the world's largest producer of hydrogen and its abundant resources have laid a material foundation for the development of hydrogen energy industry. As a kind of clean and efficient energy with high energy density, hydrogen energy can play an important role in solving energy crisis, global warming and environmental pollution. In March 2021, the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China and the Outline of the Vision Goal for 2035 mentioned that in the fields of cutting-edge technology and industrial transformation, such as hydrogen energy and energy storage, the organization and implementation of future industry incubation and acceleration plan, and the layout of a number of future industries. In areas with prominent scientific and educational resources and a solid industrial foundation, a number of National Institutes of Future Industrial Technology will be established to strengthen the multi-path exploration of cutting-edge technologies, their cross-integration and the supply of disruptive technologies. We will carry out demonstration projects for cross-border integration of industries, create scenarios for the application of future technologies, and accelerate the formation of a number of future industries.
