Fuel cell vehicle sales continue to rise

Compared with traditional vehicles, fuel cell vehicles have the advantages of no pollution, "zero emission", no noise and no transmission parts. Compared with electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles have the advantages of long driving range, short charging time and fast starting, and have broad prospects for development. China has developed fuel cell passenger vehicles, buses, logistics vehicles and other different types.

Data show that China's fuel cell vehicle sales began to rise gradually in 2016. In 2019, the sales volume of fuel cell vehicles reached 2,737 units, up 79% year-on-year from 2018, and the 4-year compound growth rate reached 63.26%. By the end of 2020, the number of fuel cell vehicles in China was 7,352, with a market size of about 360 billion yuan. From January to October 2021, 940 and 953 fuel cell vehicles were produced and sold, up 45.3% and 44.8% year-on-year respectively.
